Storage containers that are bigger on the inside on the order of 7000x larger at least (im looking at you ship locker filled with stupidly large amounts of random big objects)
Very fast intragalactic FTL with a flexible fuel tank that can use coal of all things (travel time is the same no matter if the star is the next system over or more then halfway across the galaxy) Some things of note though they have nifty 3D printers (which you can stuff all your crap in) We have not seen any of the starbound governments industry or space warfare capability's so you cant really debate about anything other then ground combat with any amount of certainty which starbound proably can take with tech's and lucky super rare hax weapon drops (i love my rapid fire rocket launcher and bouncing bullet sniper rifle)
